What is Psycho-education?

'Though my life is unusual and different, it's valuable and beautiful"

With a population of above 8 billion, there are cases of 8 billion and more biological and psychological abilities and disabilities. With the introduction of streamline paths of success stories and personalities, there is no regard for a human life that cannot follow through. But among the superior and normal people also exist people with special situations who can even barely manage to get past their normal day. It doesn't only include the ones with mental disorders or abnormalities like cases of depression, trauma and phobias but also the students who need special attention or have hidden potential within them. Psychology to the rescue, suggests the use of psychoeducation in such cases.
If we were to define psychoeducation, we would say it involves a holistic approach of finding out the impediment and the processes required to solve the encumbrance. It is the perspective that deals with ascertaining an individual's strengths, weaknesses, possible measures and cures that either allows them to live a life closer to the 'normal life' or find the gifted abilities within them. If our channels are correct, psychoeducation till today is mostly used for mild autistic patients, in cases of learning disabilities, and basically the focus is more on the people with mental disorders like schizophrenia, bipolar, etc . Psychoeducation has contributed a lot more than just helping these special people with leading a better fulfilling life by educating them and the people around them about their special circumstances. Along with that the number of psychoeducational schools that are growing, a day where special individuals would move around freely isn't far. After all, each individual has the right to live a satisfactory life with dignity.
